Hotel Manager - Rynhardt de Jager
Rynhardt de Jager Rynhardt was born in Bellville, Cape Town. He completed his schooling at Heidelberg High School in Western Cape and thereafter studied through Unisa towards a B-Com degree. Rynhardt started working as an accountant in 2000 after completing his articles (1998 – 1999) at Boshoff Visser Chartered Accountants. Rynhardt often plays squash and being a sports enthusiast, loves watching rugby. Rynhardt has been involved with Village & Life since 2003.

Food & Beverage Manager - Mario Gomes
Mario Gomes Mario Gomes grew up in Heidelberg, and matriculated in Riversdal. He went to Swellendam and started working at the Swellengrendel Hotel and was appointed as Hotel manager after 1st year (F&B focus) He worked there for 10 years, from 1993 to 2003. Mario then moved to Mykonos in Langebaan on the West Coast, as Restaurant & Terrace manager. He then started working for Village & Life, when Café and Life opened in Camps Bay, remaining there for 3 years before moving to The Bay Hotel, where he has worked for a year. He is happily married with a young daughter, who shares the same birthday as him and loves life's simple pleasures such as good coffee and fishing.

Front Office Manager - Lize van der Westhuizen
Lize van der Westhuizen Lize matriculated at Bellville High in 2001 after matriculating she studied Hotel Operations & Management with IHT- Institute for Hospitality Training in 2002 and did her in-house training with Legacy Hotels & Resorts, Portswood and Commodore Hotels. She furthered her career within Legacy Hotels & Resorts from a Trainee to Assistant Front Office Manger till February 2008. In June 2008 she left South Africa and did some travelling in Britain, whilst travelling she worked in various hotels in Wales and Scotland. She started at Village & Life as Assistant Front Office Manger in August 2009 and got promoted to Front Office Manager in May 2010. She also likes socializing with her friends and family and loves animals and the outdoors.

Rooms Division Manager - Michelle Kocke
Michelle Michelle grew up in Gauteng and attended Witbank High School, after matric she went to Durban to further her studies. Michelle later joined Sun International for 9 years and was based at the Wild Coast Sun.

During this time she also obtained her Skippers ticket and her Dive Masters certificate and after leaving the Wild Coast she moved on to Mozambique to make her hobby her job, and dived nearly every day for one and a half years.

On returning to South Africa she moved to Cape Town where she was the Executive Housekeeper at the Commodore and Portswood for 3 years, Michelle then joined Gatsby International as Rooms Division Manager  and was based at the Lanzerac Hotel & Spa but also went to several countries like Swaziland, Namibia and Nigeria to assist with Hotel projects. She was also the Contact Manager for Prestige Cleaning at the Southern Sun Waterfront for 2 years.

Reservations Manager - Carla October
Carla October

Carla was born in Cape Town and matriculated at Ned Doman Senior Secondary School. She worked from 1998 – 2004 in Time Share sales at Club Resorts International, joining Village & Life in March 2004. Carla started off as a receptionist for one and a half years and she is now settled in the reservations department. Carla likes to unwind by socializing after a hard day’s work.

Senior Technician - Cedric Heugh
Cedric As one of the longest standing staff members at the Bay Hotel, Cedric is almost part of the furniture. He has been with the company for a staggering 19 years. Celebrating his 25th anniversary soon, he is also a dedicated family man.  His two daughters, aged 18 and 8, and two Rotweillers complete the family. Being very involved in his local community, Cedric is a deacon in church and also does handyman jobs for them. In his spare time he enjoys hiking, especially in the Cederberg and Stellenbosch mountains.

Executive Housekeeper - Chantel Crowie
Chantelle Crowie

Chantel Crowie was born at Mowbray Hospital in Cape Town and later attended Plumstead High School. She started in the hotel trade after school, at a company that makes uniforms for hotels. She then moved on and worked at The Cullinan Hotel, when they opened. She has been with The Bay Hotel for 7 years now and takes great pride in her position as Executive Housekeeper. Chantel's greatest joy is in meeting new people and perhaps this is why she is dedicated to the hospitality industry.

Spa Manager - Ayesha Ebrahim
Ayesha Ebrahim

Ayesha was born in Retreat, in Cape Town and matriculated in 2002 at Grassy Park High in Cape Town, completing a Certificate in Entrepreneurship the same year through College of Cape Town, as an extra matric subject. In 2002, Ayesha obtained a Diploma in Media Studies and Journalism at Rosebank College, Cape Town. She worked at various places and did a short internship at Glamour Magazine before joining Village & Life in November 2005. Ayesha started off as a receptionist at Camps Bay Retreat. She was part of The Bay Hotel reservations team and the sales department. Ayesha loves taking long bubble baths to unwind and enjoys spending time with her friends and family.

Personal Trainer - Lesley Ebel
Lesley Ebel

Lesley, a qualified personal trainer completed her Diploma in Exercise and Fitness science at the Health and Fitness Professionals Association. She specialises in various fitness classes, resistance training, boot camps, body conditioning, nature walks and jogging. Various studio equipment is used such as Bosu, Flexi band, Stability ball, free weights and medicine balls. These activities are done in the Fitness Cabin at the Retreat or outdoors on the spectacular Camps Bay beachfront. Lesley is a very active, lively individual, has a zest for life and loves the outdoors. Her true calling is in fitness & exercise. She advises clients on good nutritional habits and offers dietary planning. She is passionate about inspiring, educating, and motivating clients through individualised assessments and programs. She is happiest when seeing goals being reached through her input. Her motto is “Motivation equals success”.

Hotel Accountant - Dayyaan Williams

Dyyaan

Dayyaan grew up in Westridge; Mitchell’s Plain and attended Westridge High School. After matric, he enrolled at Cape Peninsula University of Technology and studied towards a qualification in Internal Auditing. He pursued a career in accounting and worked at MWEB for over 3 years while studying part-time towards a qualification in Forensic Examinations at the University Of Western Cape. After working in accounting, he decided to work from home in the sales industry and submerged himself in personal development training and literature. Dayyaan joined Village & Life in May 2010 as the Hotel Accountant. He lives in Eerste River with his wife and coaches a senior cricket team; he is also a soccer fanatic whom supports Manchester United. Dayyaan plays baseball and was the Junior Western Province and South African Schools coach from 2001 – 2005.
